Creating Collage

We’re drawing, and cutting, and combining a fabric wonder.  Each EBC artist is creating three fabric designs.  After each is complete artists combine their designs with others to create gorgeous geometric layers.  Click on a picture to see a sliding gallery.

 

How to make a fabric collage:

Step 1-  Draw a pattern on a folded paper, where a large side of the pattern is interrupted by the folded half of the paper (like a paper snowflake).  Include an inner design, as well as a design that alters all the edges of the paper.

Step 2- Cut the paper design

Step 3- Place the cut design on a table-top, place the fabric on top and secure with tape.  Trace the paper design onto the fabric.

Step 4- Cut the fabric design.  Combine this design with another for layer and color effects.
